Important Changes to the CEP (as of November 6th 2011)
As stated in the November 1 edition of P-Weekly, there have been significant changes to the CEP resulting in this year’s CEP being much shorter. Here are some of the changes to the CEP that will, hopefully, allow principals to spend less time on the CEP:
As stated in the November 1 edition of P-Weekly, there have been significant changes to the CEP resulting in this year’s CEP being much shorter. Here are some of the changes to the CEP that will, hopefully, allow principals to spend less time on the CEP:
- Principals should log into http://www.iplanportal.com/ (please note the new web address for iPlan) with your full DOE address (including @schools.nyc.gov)
- Once you have logged on to iPlan, you can provision access to APs within iPlan.
- This year’s iPlan Portal will only be used for downloading the CEP, LAP, and the Language Translation templates and for uploading the final products. No edits or work can be done on the portal.
- There will be no tokens this year
- The SLT Signature Page must be signed in blue ink and kept at the school. There is no need to fax a copy to the network. Please do not attach your completed SLT signature page to the CEP template.
- There is some unclear language in the section called “Strategies to Increase Parental Involvement,” located under the Annual Goals. Currently it reads, “Cite the strategies and activities in your school’s Title I Parent Involvement Policy (PIP) that will be implemented to achieve this goal. The PIP template is provided on pages 11 through 15 in this CEP.” Please note that ALL SCHOOLS must complete this section for each goal, whether or not you receive Title 1 funding.
- Only Title I schools are required to submit the PIP (Parent Involvement Policy
- If a non-Title I school wishes to submit a PIP, they can do so
- The PIP document included in the template can be used, added to, or replaced with another document used by the school
- In the Budget section, specific dollar amounts are not required. Please do not include specific amounts!
- When submitting a final CEP, rename the template to include your school's DBN
- If a school submits the CEP prior to December 1 and wishes to make edits, the principal can delete it off the iPlan site and replace it with the edited copy. If principals make that change, please notify your superintendent to ensure he/she is looking at the most up to date copy.
- This year, all schools that receive Title III funds must submit a plan, whether they are just revising last year’s plan or designing a new one. If you have opted for conceptual consolidation, you do not need to complete the budget section. Please submit your Title III plan for review as soon as possible by emailing it to the Compliance and Performance Specialist, Will Manekas at . Once your Title III plan is approved, you can then add it to your CEP and send a copy to Brenda for scheduling.
- Please be sure you are using this year’s Title III template, which you can download from http://tinyurl.com/TitleIII.After you sign in, this link will automatically begin downloading the Title III document.
